What do you get when you cross Shakespeare, CGI, and sixty years of popular music performed by some of the biggest names and voices in today’s entertainment world? Sounds like a delightfully eccentric start to films in 2015!

Strange Magic, inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is a new animated, musical fairytale from Lucasfilm Ltd. Goblins, elves, fairies, and imps voiced by Alan Cumming (The Good Wife), Evan Rachel Wood (The Ides of March), Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked), Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), and many more tell this George Lucas story, with direction by Gary Rydstrom.

Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic, who created the CGI for Academy Award-winning film Rango are back at it, bringing this fanciful forest tale to life. And with screenwriter David Berenbaum (Elf) and music producer Marius de Vries (Moulin Rouge) on board, Strange Magic has a lot of potential to be a comedic and musical hit.

Strange Magic will be released by Touchstone Pictures on January 23, 2015.
