Nerdophiles is proud to partner with Rockstar Book Tours to bring yet another awesome YA novel to your attention. This time around we’re helping to promote Victoria Scott’s Fire & Flood – a science fiction, action, adventure book that blends together all the things people love about recent favorite the Hunger Games and the haunting classic the Island of Dr. Moreau. It’s a crazy thrill ride that’s guaranteed to keep you wanting more.

Granted, if you’re anything like me, you’re going to be super frustrated with the cliffhanger ending. One of the worst things about getting advanced copies of books is having to wait even longer for the next book in a series. Pick up Fire & Flood tomorrow and then join me in anticipation waiting for the second book.

Synopsis

A modern day thrill ride, where a teen girl and her animal companion must participate in a breathtaking race to save her brother’s life—and her own.

Tella Holloway is losing it. Her brother is sick, and when a dozen doctors can’t determine what’s wrong, her parents decide to move to Montana for the fresh air. She’s lost her friends, her parents are driving her crazy, her brother is dying—and she’s helpless to change anything.

Until she receives mysterious instructions on how to become a Contender in the Brimstone Bleed. It’s an epic race across jungle, desert, ocean, and mountain that could win her the prize she desperately desires: the Cure for her brother’s illness. But all the Contenders are after the Cure for people they love, and there’s no guarantee that Tella (or any of them) will survive the race.

The jungle is terrifying, the clock is ticking, and Tella knows she can’t trust the allies she makes. And one big question emerges: Why have so many fallen sick in the first place?

  1. 8) Books make great gifts! Either you give out a book that you think another person needs to read for some particular reason you have in mind, or you give out a book that that person wants (or has told you indirectly that he / she wants to have and read). Go, get a book from the bookstore, or just give out as gifts something that you have read for no particular event at all. People who received books as gifts would be gratified (or, perhaps question your motives), but the message will surely come through.
