Nerdophiles had the pleasure of chatting with Alycia Pascual-Peña (“Lucy”) and Hadley Robinson (“Vivian”) about the social messages in their new film, Moxie!

Directed by and starring Amy Poehler (“Lisa), this dramedy follows 16-year old Vivian, as she goes on an undercover feminist mission to expose and change the misogynistic and toxic ways of her high school, which leads to a revolution greater than she could’ve imagined. Vivian’s journey is sparked not only by Lucy, a new student who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and discuss the toxicity of the high school but also by her mom Lisa’s rebellious past. Not only do Vivian & Lucy find their voices in big and beautiful ways but they develop friendships with and inspire other young girls to find their moxie and take down the patriarchy, one student body at a time.

Watch our sit-down with Hadley Robinson and Alycia Pascual-Peña about who helped cultivate the moxie in their lives, and what these fierce and dynamic characters taught them, and so much more!

Moxie is streaming tomorrow, only on Netflix!
