The premise of The Age of Adaline reminds us that immortality is not exactly a walk in the park. Blake Lively plays the upcoming film’s title character, Adaline Bowman, who remains the young age of 29 for nearly 80 years through some miraculous event. Adaline spends all those years running, changing her identity to keep her circumstances a secret while still staying in touch with her daughter (Ellen Burstyn).

And then she meets Ellis.

Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman, who you may recognize as Cal from Orphan Black) appears to be the epic, game-changing love interest for Adaline. The solitary life she has lived can’t have been easy, but it doesn’t look like falling in love will be easy either. Especially since Harrison Ford’s character, as seen in the trailer, knew Adaline from another time in her long life – and Ford plays Ellis’s father.

After casting, directional, and release date changes, The Age of Adaline is finally slated to be released on April 24, 2015.
