I’m just going to say this now: Spoiler. Alert. Only read this post if you are 1)100% caught up on Supernatural or 2) Don’t care about reading spoilers. You’ve been warned…

We’ve been through a lot with the Winchesters. We’ve been following Sam and Dean around the country since 2005, and it seems like forever ago that we first heard Dean talk about saving people and hunting things.

With season 10 only a few months away (season 10 premieres October 7), The CW is starting to get us excited with this little “The Road So Far” clip:

Even cooler, after the premiere of The Originals on October 6, you can tune in to watch a Supernatural Retrospective Special to get you pumped for the new season, which will probably be incredibly easy. After all, there are a TON of things to be excited about with the new season approaching, but here are my top three:

1. Demon Dean

Demon Dean

This one’s a no-brainer. There hasn’t been such an intense season finale since Sam, you know, accidentally started the apocalypse.

I have no idea what is going to happen now that Dean is a demon. I have big questions, like what will this do to Sam and Cas? There have been rumors that Sam will go to great and highly questionable lengths to track down Dean. What will that look like? And for a more trivial question, how can Dean be a demon if he has an anti-possession tattoo (ok, so he’s not technically possessed, but still)? Am I the only one bothered by this?

Most importantly, will Demon Dean still drive the Impala, even though it’s warded to the teeth against demons, and if he does drive it, will he take good care of it?

From the looks of things, Dean’s demonic transformation is going to cause big waves all over, and Dean is going to be a demonic force to be reckoned with. Honestly, the fact the writers have made us wait this long to figure out what the heck is going to be happening with Dean now that he’s a demon is borderline cruel. October 7 can’t get here soon enough.

2. Musical-ish 200th Episode

To celebrate 200 episodes, the Supernatural writers are doing another meta-episode that they are calling a sort of “love letter” to the fans. The writers aren’t calling it a full-blown musical episode, more “musical-ish”, and they are allegedly calling it “Fan Fiction. So while musical episodes can make me nervous, the show runners know how to create a good meta-sode. If it’s anything like “Changing Channels” or “The French Mistake” the episode will be hilarious and awesome. If I’m honest, I’m also hoping the fact the episode is called “Fan Fiction” will herald the return of my personal favorite stalkers fangirls and ex-wife to Sam, Becky Winchester Rosen.

3. Returning Characters and Some Cool New Ones

We know that there will be some returning favorite female characters, so I can only assume we’ll be seeing the return of Charlie, and possibly her new hunting buddy Dorothy.

There is also talk of a new, kick-ass female character who will also be a love interest for Dean. I’m really interested to see a cool, new female character in the mix. The show could definitely use a bit of female influence. However, my favorite rumor (that is 100% unconfirmed, mind you) is that we’ll finally revisit poor, forgotten Adam. You remember Adam, right? Sam and Dean’s long-lost brother who ended up being the vessel for Michael in Dean’s stead? Adam who was thrust into the pit with Sam and Lucifer? Adam who, for the past several years has been…otherwise unavailable?

Like I said, this is fully unconfirmed, but I really do hope the writers at least have Sam and Dean mention Adam. I realize they didn’t know Adam well, but to never speak about their long-lost brother’s horrific fate seems a bit cold, even for our favorite emotionally maladjusted hunters.

Of course I am also still carrying the torch of eternal hope for the return of my favorite angel/trickster…

However, we won’t know anything for certain until the season kicks off in October, and it looks like it is going to be fantastic–even though waiting MONTHS for the rest of the Demon Dean story is driving me to insanity. I’ll certainly be watching the retrospective on October 6, and the premiere on October 7, and may or may not currently be in the middle of a Supernatural rewatch to help pass the summer. What are you most excited about? How do you feel about Demon Dean? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I hadn’t heard about the Adam rumor, but what I’d love to see were if they brought back the antichrist kid, Jesse Turner. I mean, what a perfect opportunity, right?

As for favorite female characters returning, I think they could’ve just meant Jody and Sheriff Donna (both confirmed, which I’m excited about) by that.

I do however hope Charlie will return, maybe kick demon!Dean’s ass a bit or be there for him once he’s back to normal!Dean. I really love Dean and Charlie’s relationship.

Also, I really, really want Krissy Chambers to reappear! Basically I also just want one of these awesome ladies to stick around! With now four “main dudes” some regular estrogen is needed, don’t you think?

    1. Agreed!!! We definitely some estrogen! And I’m glad we get to see more Jody and Donna. I’m still hoping for Charlie though! I love her (and her relationship with Dean is so much fun to watch).

I had forgotten about Jesse! That would totally be a perfect time to bring him back!! GAH! Season 10 needs to START already!

  2. Does anyone else think Sheriff Mills and Linda Tran would make an awesome hunter team-up? They’re both similar ages who’ve lost children to acts of supernatural stuff, plus they’ve both taken part in hunts. Hell, they could have their own show and I would definitely watch that (though I wonder who else would…)
I think Dean not being able to get into his car now he’s a demon could be an excellently exploited scene ^-^
