ALLBLK’s cyber dramedy Operation: Aunties is the perfect blend of science, intrigue, crime, comedy, and sisterhood. When Dr. Carol Cleavers (Melissa De Sousa, The Best Man: The Final Chapters), a pioneer in the blockchain space, discovers that her surrogate niece Aminah (Amiyah Scott, Star) has been kidnapped, it uncovers a deadly trafficking ring.

Preying on women ordering rideshares alone, they drug their targets and attempt to traffic them for money. After Aminah returns home safely, Carol recruits her newly retired detective best friend, Sharon (Tisha Campbell, Martin), to hatch a plan to hack and dismantle the criminal organization from the inside out. These three women have the brains, resources, and disguises to make a change — and when the real mastermind behind the scheme is revealed, it unleashes a twist that no one sees coming.

Nerdophiles had the pleasure of speaking with director Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Game) and Tisha Campbell about this TV movie and how, in the end, one thing remains true: brilliant Black women will always save the day, and no one has your back like your chosen family. Watch our conversation below:
