Friday is the first day of WonderCon and it starts early! Con goers don’t have a whole lot of time to get prepped for the day’s activities. Panels start around noon but drawings for signings start even earlier in the morning at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Check the schedule for the shows you’re interested in and when they start. There are signings set for Teen Titans Go!, Containment, Bob’s Burgers, and iZombie so you’re interested try your luck!

Finding Your Inner Superhero: How Pop Culture Media Brings Justice and Healing 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM @ Room 502B

Ann Burroughs from Amnesty International joins a panel of experts to discuss the how pop culture can empower people to overcome adversity. The panel will talk about tough topics ranging from cyber bullying to racism. This sounds like it is going to be an amazing panel and it promises to be a riveting conversation on heroism so if you can make it, I would recommend checking it out!

The Composers: Today’s Greatest Superheroes of Music 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM @ Room 515B

Music often helps make a show or movie. Now you’ve got the chance to see some of the folks behind the music of your favorite Marvel, Disney, and Star Wars shows talk about their craft. (Sadly, no John Williams guys.) Should be fun!

Stitchers 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM @ Microsoft Theater

Join the cast and creative minds behind Stitchers for a live Q&A. The surprise sci-fi hit from FreeForm just returned for Season 2 so maybe you’ll get some hints at what’s to come this season.

Spotlight on Charles Soule 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM @ Room 515A

I’m not going to lie, I mostly included this in hopes that attendees might get a little sneak peek at Soule’s upcoming Poe Dameron on-going series. They said there would be candy but that the candy will be a lie but hey! You never know. There could be candy.

Comics Art Conference: Captain America vs. Iron Man: Freedom, Security, Psychology in Marvel’s Civil War and Beyond 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM @ Room 411

A panel of experts considers the motivations behind #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan as they go into Marvel’s Civil War. This should be a really fascinating discussion on not just pop culture but politics and personal philosophy as well. Who can pass up such an awesome discussion framed through superheroes!?

Damien 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ Room 408B

If you’re not watching this show you should be because it’s a surprisingly good continuation of The Omen story. The cast and showrunners will be on hand to talk about the show and provide a sneak peek at the show’s upcoming episode.

Shadowhunters 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ Microsoft Theater

This should be a fun panel for fans of the latest adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments. It’ll be in the Microsoft Theater – effectively the Hall H of WonderCon at LA it seems. The bulk of the cast is coming out so come check it out.

Hitmakers: From Script to Screen 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM @ Room 408AB

The creative minds behind Elementary, Limitless, and Scorpion are on deck to talk about everything that goes into making your favorite shows a reality. Well, as far as the writing goes anyway. We’ll also be attending the press room for this event so keep an eye out for some coverage from us on that, too.

Containment Pilot Screening and Q&A 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM @ Microsoft Theater

The Walking Dead isn’t the only show to feature a devastating outbreak in Atlanta. New series Containment fresh from the folks at the CW looks pretty promising – and you can catch the whole first episode at this special panel before getting a chance to hear more from the cast and showrunners about what to expect in the series’ first season.

Marvel: Next Big Thing 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM @ Room 403AB

Brian Michael Bendis and Charles Soule (as well as editor Will Moss) will be highlighting all the big upcoming events on Marvel comics. In particular you can expect to hear a lot on Civil War II and hopefully more about what’s coming up in the Star Wars comic universe (especially as far as it pertains to Poe Dameron…)

iZombie Special Video Presentation and Q&A 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM @ Microsoft Theater

I love, love, love iZombie! What does the ‘special video presentation’ hold for congoers? You’re guess is as good as mine. Hopefully some hints as to where this rest of this season is going. Sneak peeks? Blooper real? I guess we’ll have to all show up and find out.

Hollyweird Science 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM @ Room 502B

These days science fiction has been putting a real emphasis on including as much science fact as possible. Meet the folks behind getting science right and talk about what goes into making the decision about just how far to take the science fact before allowing yourself to run free withs science fiction.

Streaming Success: Behind the Scenes of Your Favorite Binge-Worthy Shows 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM @ Room 515B

This panel highlights the effort of the unsung heroes of streaming television. These are the composers, special effects masters, and designers that help bring your favorite shows to life at Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu. All three streaming magnates have representatives in one panel! Should be fun.

Robert Kirkman’s Outcast Premeire 7:00 PM – Unknown @ Regal LA Live

Did you know that the creator of The Walking Dead had a new show premiering on Cinemax on June 3rd? Don’t want to wait until June to see it? Click the link above and download a Gofobo pass to attend the WonderCon premiere! You’ll have to make your way to the theatre but that’s a small price to pay to see the premiere, don’t you think? Don’t miss it! But show up early. Gofobo screenings are usually first come first serve and you definitely want to be first serve.

Pop My Culture 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM @ Room 515A

The hit Nerdist podcast is recording live at WonderCon this year! Guest panelists still to be announced. Who doesn’t love a surprise?

AMC’s Preacher Series Premiere Screening and Panel 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM @ Room 408AB

Another comic book adaptation – this one fronted by AMC – premieres on Friday night. This one, though, you don’t need to leave the convention center to check out. Preacher starring Dominic Cooper (aka Howard Stark) premieres May 22nd but you can get an early shot at seeing it if you don’t mind staying up late Friday night!
