WICOMICON was everything you could ever want in a convention: cosplay, vendors, and panels. The crowds only grew throughout the day and there was a sense of joy and community that I hadn’t felt at any other convention.
It’s been a week since the Crazy Rich Asians trailer dropped and I can finally calm down! I’ve been waiting for this since 2016. I’ve held my breath and now that’s it’s here, I couldn’t be happier.
The pop-up con has been dubbed WICOMICON, an Algonquin word that means “a place where homes are built.” The one-day con will last all day from 10am-7pm. Admission at the door will be only $10 ($5 for FanCon ticket holders) and free for children under 12.
Things are heating up on Into the Badlands! Season 3 starts off with a bang and gets straight the point: the Badlands is going to war. There’s so much to look forward to this season: more episodes, more characters, more fights and more magic.

Each episode is its own little gem. Ugly Delicious is less of a David Chang extravaganza, and more of a true documentary. Think Vice; not Rachel Ray. If you like food shows (Chef’s Table, Mind of a Chef, etc), then chances are you love Ugly Delicious.
Everything Sucks! is like Stranger Things and My So-called Life had a baby and its best friend is Boy Meets World. A show capitalizing on nostalgia, it still has all the heart you want from a high school drama.
Order 9066 is named for the executive order, signed by FDR, that gave the army permission to “relocate” the Japanese in America. The podcast is a well-produced, well-researched deep dive into the history of what caused Internment, why it happened, and how it was rolled.
The Twelfth Doctor: Year One is a pretty spectacular read, especially for all those Capaldi fans. This delightful romp into the Doctor Who universe is definitely aimed at the early days of the beloved Twelve.
Since they are complete sets, they are longer reads, which many will find enjoyable. And it’s always nice to go back and revisit your old friends.
