You can’t have pop culture without Jay and Silent Bob. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are kings of nerd culture. In honor of their contribution, and their classic film, Legion M and Theatre Box will be honoring the pair in a Friday night handprint ceremony at San Diego Comic Con.

Fans of Jay and Silent Bob will have a very limited change to snag tickets to this exclusive event. Tickets will be available for free through the Legion M San Diego Comic Con page tonight, Wednesday the 17th, at 5:00pm.

The event itself will take place at Theatre Box along with all of Legion M’s other comic con offerings. These include a lounge, a pop-up rooftop party, and hours for Stargate Command. The Legion M Lounge at San Diego Comic Con is the place to be during a busy convention weekend.

Legion M Announces Historic “Jay and Silent Bob”
Handprint Ceremony And Other San Diego Comic-Con-Exclusive Events with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes

LOS ANGELES (July 17, 2019)– After recently sharing its jam-packed activation at San Diego Comic-Con, fan-owned entertainment company Legion M is thrilled to announce that it is making history and hosting star-studded events with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes during the Con at Theatre Box® (701 Fifth Ave.) in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter. 

On Friday, July 19 at 6:00 p.m. PDT, fans are invited to celebrate Kevin SmithandJasonMewesbeing immortalized when Legion M and Theatre Box, the sister venue to Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre, host a very special handprint ceremony of pop culture’s greatest film duo, Jay and Silent Bob. A limited number of fan tickets will be available for free beginning tonight, Wednesday, July 17, at 5:00 p.m. PDT only at legionm.com/sdcc2019. Saturday evening, July 20 at 9:30 p.m. PDT, Smith and Mewes return to Theatre Box to introduce a late night screening of “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” hosted by ThinkGeek in the all-new TCL Chinese Theatre at Theatre Box. Entry wristbands for the screening will be available, with purchase, at the ThinkGeek SDCC Booth #3349. Fans can get ready for “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” by posing at a 28-foot Quick Stop facade overtaking Theatre Box, a fun photo opp experience using actual props from the set of the upcoming “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.” Step through the Quick Stop’s “door” to access the Legion M Fan Lounge presented by The Pop Insider. Saban Films will release “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” in theaters this October.

Also, don’t miss catching Jason Mewes’s directorial debut when Legion M hosts his feature film “Madness in the Method” and Q&A on Thursday evening, July 18 in the TCL Chinese Theatre at Theatre Box (7 p.m. to 10 p.m. PDT). RSVP for tickets now at legionm.com/sdcc2019.

Don’t forget, Legion M’s Fan Lounge presented by The Pop Insider will take over Theatre Box’s brand-new Chocolate Lounge and 5th & Sky Rooftop Gardens & Lounge. On Thursday, July 18 (7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. PDT, Room 6BCF), “Fans Celebrating 40 Years of Alien,” co-hosted with Screen Media, will take a deep dive into the origins of “Alien” and its fandom while celebrating the classic horror/Sci-Fi film with the director of “Memory: The Origins of Alien” Alexandre O. Philippe, along with Legion M’s vice president of development David BaxterDiane O’Bannon (Dan O’Bannon Estate), Will Linn (Joseph Campbell Foundation) and other special guests as they discuss Philippe’s upcoming feature documentary and debut the trailer for “Memory: The Origins of Alien.”
