The inaugural Split Screens Festival kicked off on Friday at New York City’s IFC Center. The goal? To create a space where consumers and creators can enjoy and discuss television during its current golden age.

With a phenomenal lineup specifically cultivated by television critic (and genius) Matt Zoller Seitz, TV fans of all walks are bound to find something for them this week as the festival continues. Below you will find our top recommendations for each day of the remaining week, including panels we are excited to cover.

The Legacy Award: Lee Grant

When: Monday, June 5th at 6:30PM.
Tickets: HERE

The inaugural Legacy Award will be presented by AMC Networks in honor of an individual whose “career has had a lasting impact on television.” Lee Grant, an Oscar and Emmy award winning actress, will be the first to receive the award this year. Her career has spanned decades through thick and thin, recovering after a political incident that left her black listed. Grant’s career is a testament to grit, hard work, and a willingness to stay true to her values. You will not want to miss this ceremony.

Orphan Black

When: Tuesday, June 6th at 6:30PM
Tickets: Rush tickets only, info HERE

Orphan Black is a well loved, wildly popular show that will be enjoying a fifth season this summer. The show is so successful that events tend to sell out fast, and that’s exactly what happened with this showing. Fans who get tickets will get to enjoy a screening and discussion with actors Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kristian Bruun, Kevin Hanchard, Evelyne Brochu, and Ari Millen along with Executive Producers Graeme Manson and John Fawcett.

Tickets are currently only available at the venue 15 minutes before the screening on a first-come first-served basis. The rush line will begin to form an hour before showtime. If you’re a fan of the show then it is a no brainer, you won’t want to miss this.

New Platforms, New Voices

When: Wednesday, June 7th at 7:30PM
Tickets: HERE

The golden age of television we currently enjoy includes an expansion to other platforms outside of good old network or cable television. Of course the internet changed the world, but outside of beasts like Hulu and Netflix there are smaller creators who are getting their start putting together shows on free platforms.

This panel celebrates those creators who have taken advantage of these new platforms and offer lesser known creators a chance to make it big. In house will be representatives of shows like Bravest WarriorsEat Our Feelings, and The Outs. Come learn about how these new platforms came into begin and what their future impact may be.

Hannibal – “The Wrath of the Lamb”

When: Thursday, June 8th at 9:00PM
Tickets: HERE

Hannibal was cancelled a few years back but you would not guess that from the fans. Though it may be a while until we see a fourth season, critics, creators, and fans alike continue to celebrate its artful take on an old story. This is a chance for fans of Hannibal to relive the season three finale on the big screen and listen to commentary from Raul Esparza, Janice Poon, Bryan Fuller (via skype), and fan enthusiast Dr. Lori Morimoto. Don your flower crowns and prepare to have a delicious night because tickets are still available and, given fannibal passion, may just sell out before you know it.

That wraps up our daily selections for the final four days of the Split Screens Festival. There are other options with tickets still available that can be found through the schedule HERE. Whatever your pleasure, you will not want to miss out on this unique chance to convene with creators and talk everything television.
