Those wily dudes behind Blood & Gourd are at it again, this time looking for your help to fund the second issue of their absolutely horrific tale. Taking place in Olympia, Washington, the first issue left the Henderson Farm in complete chaos as sentient pumpkins began to enact their revenge for years of being chopped up and put on people’s doorsteps. What comes next for everyone being terrorized by these vicious monsters? Support the Kickstarter and find out!

At this past weekend’s Northwest Comic Fest I had the opportunity to hang out with writers/co-creators Jenz Lund and D.H. Shulits who were excitedly promoting their next issue. Readers are in for a wild ride, as the second issue promises to be just as exciting if not more so than the last. Here’s a quick refresh of what happened in issue #1 (and if you haven’t bought it, you should do that immediately right HERE):

For those of you just jumping on, issue #1 introduced readers to a world of premium, pulse-pounding, pumpkin pandemonium! Picture what would happen if H.P. Lovecraft wrote for EC Comics in the heyday of VHS B-movie splendor, on Halloweenwith lovable losers who swoop in to save the day. Oh, and there’s a telepathic toy unicorn, too!

Since the first issue earned itself so many positive reviews, including my own, it isn’t a surprise that the Blood & Gourd team are crashing forward toward their goal for the second issue. Their Kickstarter is not only full of promise, but packed with loads of great rewards at every tier. Only able to commit ten dollars? No problem, that will earn you digital copies of both issues. For two more dollars, you get a print copy of issue one and a digital copy of issue two, as well as a smattering of other excellent swag.

The bigger the backing, the bigger the benefits. Don’t miss out on your chance to support this fantastic indie project and help bring a second issue into the world.
