Rose McIver calls iZombie a “Zom-Com-Rom-Dram.” You may think that that combination of genres would be difficult to successfully achieve, but iZombie shines in more ways than one.  In today’s society, we are all too familiar with intense zombie dramas such as The Walking Dead, so I was pleasantly surprised to find iZombie managed to create a gritty zombie police procedural while adding more humorous undertones of comedy with a sprinkling of romance.

I won’t deny that I was cautiously apprehensive about this show before it started, but I will adamantly admit that it has quickly become one of my favorite guilty pleasures of television. Good writing, engaging characters, and talented actors create a captivating new show that you don’t want to miss.

The cast returned to San Diego Comic-Con for their second year to discuss the events of last season and what may be in store for their characters in the upcoming season.

Season 2 of iZombie premieres this fall on Tuesday, October 6th at 9pm ET, immediately following The Flash.
