In the latest Kickstarter drama, John Campbell (whom you may know from picturesforsadchildren.com, which is now just a blank page) updated his Kickstarter to say he wouldn’t be sending out any more books from his successfully funded venture in 2012. This article highlights the important bits, if you don’t want to read through a giant rambling mess of someone in need of help. Just a note, this is the same campaign where he faked depression way back in Update #2. All that being said, let’s look at some fun projects (because this is making me sad)!

 Frenchy and the Punk’s New CD Project

frenchyandthepunkI don’t even know how to explain the music Frenchy and the Punk put out, except to say you’re going to want to get out of your seat and dance. If you don’t believe me, check out some of the music on their website. They’re looking to fund the follow up to Hey Hey Cabaret (which was successfully funded on Kickstarter previously, I love people with good track records). Ashley has already vouched that the guitar pillows look as amazing in person as they do on the funding page. With a tour planned from May to November, you can help their newest CD get produced and then hopefully catch a show and sing along!

Under $20 Rewards: For $10, you get a digital download of the CD (the guitar pillows alone can be yours for $27 – they’re so cool).

Pairs: A New Classic Pub Game

[youtube=http://youtu.be/rcV45WyiWqs]

Sam is currently going through a crisis of whether to splurge on four decks or five decks from this Kickstarter campaign, that’s how much she loves it. The video above shows how the game is played, a combination of luck and strategy, with only one loser each time. It’s quick, it’s fun, and it’s very pretty to look at. The original deck has artwork based on The Name of the Wind, the first book in Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicles, but with the money they’ve raised so far, there’s three other decks to choose from (as well as a completely different game offered as well) and something for everyone. I personally want to see the stretch goal met for the Barmaid deck!

Under $20 Rewards: If you’re not insane like Sam, $16 will get you one deck of your choice (Barmaids! Barmaids! Or you know, that sweet Fruit deck… or there’s a Pirate deck… and now I see why Sam is torn).

Ends March 15, 2014.

Book Lush: What to Drink with What To Read by Kelsye Nelson

drinkmatchDo you like reading? Do you like drinking? Would you like to know what to drink while you’re reading your favorite book? Kelsye Nelson has you covered! She’s working on a book that pairs the two and it’s going to be full of excellent suggestions. How do I know this? She was inspired to do this project while reading The Wind Up Bird Chronicle and drinking Cutty Sark. That’s one hell of a resume to prop yourself up on. And if that didn’t convince you, the Book Status section of her Kickstarter shows how on top of the book she is – with marketing plans and future ideas to turn the book into a series!

Under $20 Rewards: For $10, you’ll get your very own drink recommendation paired with your favorite book in the form of a .jpg graphic. If you put in a little more, at $25, you get a digital download of the book sent to you!

Ends March 20, 2014.

  1. I’m frankly beginning to figure out the fact that Tumblr presents
    a considerably more functions unlike everygthing I was thinking.
    Although I haven’t for ages been an ardent member until recently I really have seen that it has really become a really suitable website for me
    to finally learn a lot by interacting alongside other people, share insights and beliefs, and boost
    visits towards enterprises that master its use.
    I fknd it excellent that I am just exploring tumblr recently
